I had this box with figures for a Black orc team for quite a while and some time ago I decided to build them. They are resin 3D printed so not very much to build. Most of the work have been priming and then painting them. Here’s the finished team!

Sometime it’s just time to take a step back and decide that you’re finished with what you’re doing. At least that’s what I had to do with my Black Orc team.
Here they are in all their glory!

Here they’re doing a bit of Phil Collins dance moves! 🙂

I’m quite happy with how they turned out! 🙂
Next I’ll finish my Gnome team.
More details was painted, like theeth and horns on their masks.

The ghoul on Varag got some colour.

Their shoes was painted in white and red.

A lot of details was added here and there, getting closer to being finished.

I added some dirt, grass and black rim to their bases, and all the player got hand painted numbers.

Good enough to be called done, but as usual I found a few things I wanted to sort before taking the final reveal pics!
I decided to go with the red and yellow and painted their shoulder pads in those colours too.
The Goblins just got red trousers and yellow shirts or armor.

The rest of the armor was painted black.

Vallejo black metal was used to paint their bucklers and toe protectors and some other metal details. A few more details was all I could manage to paint last friday before the tournament match I contended yesterday.

The tournamnet was held in Varberg a city about one hour ride from where I live. First time ever playing the game for real. The people there was very nice and helped understand the rules and what was possible to do. I lost all my three matches but managed to do a touch down with my goblin that successfully was thrown by my trained troll. For that to happen I had to succed with series of succesfull rolls with the dice. Happily everything went well and I scored one touchdown.
Recently I was invited to a small tournament of Blood Bowl in a nearby city.
As I really never played except in the computer game, I had to paint a team that was somewhat easy to play with.
I had already built and primed the figures for the 2nd season edition, and choosed to use the Black orcs including the Star Player figure and the troll.
As I only had done black primer before, I added a layer of grey and then white in a typical zenithal style.

I then gave them all a wash with Nuln oil and dry brushed them with white just to pick out details.

I tried different greens on the goblins.

Then both the orcs and goblins got different green colours.

The troll got a blueish colour with a lighter colour on his tummy and arms and legs.
I will dry brush with a slightly lighter colour later.

Just to see how it looked, I painted the trousers in red and yellow.

I painted three of them with leather colour on their straps and gloves. I will proceed doing the same on the other ones later.
I’m trying to keep the colour scheme simple and consistant within the team.
Painting the figures seems to take longer than I had anticipated. Everytime I look I find more parts to paint or fix somehow. But now it looks like I’m getting there, at least with the grunts and the shaman.

Soon time to finish off the soldiers as well. Then all the bases need some kind of dekoration in the form of dirt and grass.
I started out painting some of them with ordinary yellow, then I decided to use the Speed Paint version, that looks a bit darker.

On those aleady painted red, I painted yellow patterns.

Then I painted some more red, leaving some parts yellow.

My girlfriend suggested that I should paint the helmet jaws in metal. So I did a test.

On some I left even the shoulder pads yellow, as I wanted some of them to look a bit different.

The I took a pic with the boar riders as well.

On those with yellow shoulder pads, I painted some details in black.

I think it’s starting to come together. I’ll paint some more jaws in metal while I’m painting the weapons and other metal parts.
In order to get the red colour “right”, I had to paint more yellow. A few at the time!

Then a bunch of orks and boar riders got primer.

Then as usual I painted grey and white zenithal primer.

Lastly I gave them a wash with Nuln oil and then some white dry brushing.

I started painting one of the grunts with yellow on the armor and green on the skin. The boar was painted with browns and black on the fur.

On the boss I used Speed Paint yellow, just to see the difference.

I think that it turned out pretty cool!
In order to tie the troops together, I decided to add both black and red to my boar riding grunts. I’ve also been painting details like straps and handles in different brown colours.

Still got more to paint, and also need to paint more of the soldiers to figure out how to tie their schemes together.
For me TOW (The Old World) seems more interesting than Age of Sigmar, so I decided to remake my ard boyz to black orcs. I also found a few figures in the Start Collecting box that thought could be useful. So I built one Shaman/Wierdnob and three böack orcs/grunts on boars.

Cruel looking orcs on boars!
I also decided to repaint my orcs to better fit what I had in mind for my Orc TOW army.
So I used Slaughter red from Speed Paint and painted over the yellow, Leaving yellow in some areas.
I then painted weapon and other details in different colours, using black metal for the weapons and armor. I added some yellow triangels on the armor and will do that on the other ones as well.
On the boss I kept the black shoulder pads with yellow pattern. He’s the boss after all.

I’ll paint the remaining 11 orcs in the same manner and I also think the boar riders will have the same paint scheme.
