Warhammer TOW and Mordheim warbands – building and painting.

I decided to put a few of my current Mordheim warband and Tow army projects in the same thread.

I think I can start with my dwarfen warband even if it’s not in the correct build order.

These are the figures I choose to have in my warband. Also included are 2 troll slayers.

Then all got proper primer.

A little skin colour was also added. Then I decided to go with mostly red and orange colours for their beards. Some weapons got painted with Vallejo’s black metal.

Painting dwarfs that also will be part of my army later helped me figure out what colours I wanted to use. Here they’re nearly done.

I’ll add some more details and paint their bases.

I also decided to make a warband from the gunnery school of Nuln. Here’s some of the figures.

The two to the left I borrowed from my Mercenary warband, the other ones need some paint.

Getting somewhere.

Almost finished. Like the dwarfs I need to add some details and sort their bases.

A pic of most of my warband figures and some that also doubles as TOW armies.

Above: Some of the new figures I got that could be used in warbands. Some as hired swords probably.

I also built and painted my orc boar chariots. Here I’ve started painting one of them. And also one orc boss on boar and his BSB.

Here compared with the AoS orc boss on boar.

I haven’t decided how to do with some of the AoS figures like the one above, except for changing the base, as it really don’t match the size of the other boars.

Empire of man – Free Company militia – part 3

I started making bases for my Warband. I decided that my marksmen should have some kind of wooden floors. So I cut plastic stripes and glued on.

For the first one I tried to fit the stripes around his shoes, but that was quite complicated, so for the other three I carefully removed the figures before glueing the stripes.
Here the three first ones got paint on the boards.

The floor for the fourth one took a while longer. Quite happy with how they turned out.
I also started making some kind of stones or bricks with 2k putty.

I also made bricks from cut pieces of cardboard. The rest of the figures got grey paint.

I added some dirt, tufts and grass on a few.

For those with grey bases, I used a fine brush to paint black, forming bricks. Then I used light grey to make some highlights.

After a while I considered my warband that I called Reichwalds Fiffiga Filurer (Clever tricksters).

Now I just need to finish the rest of my militia figures.
