Orruk Ardboyz – part 3

I started out painting some of them with ordinary yellow, then I decided to use the Speed Paint version, that looks a bit darker.

On those aleady painted red, I painted yellow patterns.

Then I painted some more red, leaving some parts yellow.

My girlfriend suggested that I should paint the helmet jaws in metal. So I did a test.

On some I left even the shoulder pads yellow, as I wanted some of them to look a bit different.

The I took a pic with the boar riders as well.

On those with yellow shoulder pads, I painted some details in black.

I think it’s starting to come together. I’ll paint some more jaws in metal while I’m painting the weapons and other metal parts.

Orruk Ardboyz goes TOW – part 2

In order to get the red colour “right”, I had to paint more yellow. A few at the time!

Then a bunch of orks and boar riders got primer.

Then as usual I painted grey and white zenithal primer.

Lastly I gave them a wash with Nuln oil and then some white dry brushing.

I started painting one of the grunts with yellow on the armor and green on the skin. The boar was painted with browns and black on the fur.

On the boss I used Speed Paint yellow, just to see the difference.

I think that it turned out pretty cool!

In order to tie the troops together, I decided to add both black and red to my boar riding grunts. I’ve also been painting details like straps and handles in different brown colours.

Still got more to paint, and also need to paint more of the soldiers to figure out how to tie their schemes together.

USS Enterprise CV-6 – back from the grave

I started this build a long time ago, and have done a bit here and there during that time, but lately it’s just been sitting in a box on a shelf.
I had need for a box to put my orcs in so I decided to finish this build and thus emptying the box.

I glued the carrier deck to the hull.

Then I added the decals.

I then started to sort all the small detail like the planes and cranes.

Missing are the 2 life boats and the last plane whose wing was missing at the time I took the pic. The wing tip was in the box, I just had missed it.
I’ll sort the boats and the plane and then do some touching up and maybe a little weathering.
Then I’ll consider this build finished!

Orruk Ardboyz goes TOW

For me TOW (The Old World) seems more interesting than Age of Sigmar, so I decided to remake my ard boyz to black orcs. I also found a few figures in the Start Collecting box that thought could be useful. So I built one Shaman/Wierdnob and three böack orcs/grunts on boars.

Cruel looking orcs on boars!

I also decided to repaint my orcs to better fit what I had in mind for my Orc TOW army.
So I used Slaughter red from Speed Paint and painted over the yellow, Leaving yellow in some areas.

I then painted weapon and other details in different colours, using black metal for the weapons and armor. I added some yellow triangels on the armor and will do that on the other ones as well.
On the boss I kept the black shoulder pads with yellow pattern. He’s the boss after all.

I’ll paint the remaining 11 orcs in the same manner and I also think the boar riders will have the same paint scheme.
